Nursery

Supporting Regional Rewilding

The Forktree Project Nursery grows a wide range of endemic native species to meet the needs of a variety of planting projects, including:

  • large‑scale habitat restoration and conservation projects
  • private landholders looking to restore ecological health on their properties
  • our own restoration program on the Forktree Project site itself

We are proud to have grown over 75,000 plants of over 175 different species in the nursery this year.

Provenance

Restoration-led Provenance

All plants in The Forktree Project Nursery are grown from seed and plant material of carefully selected provenance to ensure long-term ecological resilience in their destination sites.

Seed and plant materials are responsibly collected by the Forktree Nursery team from a range of sources, including:

  • our own Rare Seed Orchard
  • the wider property itself (both remnant vegetation and maturing restoration plants)
  • partner sites
  • trusted local suppliers
  • the South Australian Seed Conservation Centre
